What I’ve Written

“If you really want to make a friend, go to someone’s house and eat with him… the people who give you their food give you their heart.”

— Cesar Chavez

I love to tell stories of industry professionals who utilize their techniques, sourcing, and practices to help reduce food waste and foster a better relationship between our bodies, our food, our communities, and the environment. Hidden within our food lies the story of our humanity. Here are just a few pieces I’ve written highlighting companies and culinary artists who commit themselves to nourishing their communities while remaining mindful of human impact on our global environment.

“If music be the food of love, play on, Give me excess of it; that surfeiting,

The appetite may sicken, and so die.”

— William Shakespeare

Storytelling exists in many forms. Whether it’s an album, a film, or some other form of artistic expression, my passion is exploring and highlighting the deeper value inherent in creativity! Music — especially, holds such a large presence in our culture. It’s easy to take for granted. However, each song, each performance, is a statement. My job is not to judge the creativity of others but to hold each creative statement in conversation, assessing its role, its impact, in the world. As a musician myself, I understand the tension between creator and critic, but I also see the value in applying critical thought to the various forms of media with which we engage.

“THE WORLD IS A BOOK AND THOSE WHO DO NOT TRAVEL READ ONLY A PAGE.”

— SAINT AUGUSTINE

Our world is full of incredible, natural beauty and vibrant culture. Traveling allows us to access the fullness that life has to offer. I love to tell stories of people who not only explore new and exciting places, but who do so with a mindfulness of our impact on the natural world and the various cultures living together in our world. Travel can truly make the world a better place — but only if those who travel do so with the heart, a mindset, and an outlook of care and concern for our planet and the people living within it.
